In partnership with The Head & The Heart's Rivers & Roads Foundation and fellow Seattle music community members Stone Gossard, Susan Silver, Lily Cornell Silver, and Maggie Savarino, brought together by Nicole Vandenberg, SMASH offers free and low-cost mental health treatment through our Musicians Mental Health & Wellness Fund.

SMASH works with in-person and telehealth providers to provide musicians with free and low-cost mental health care for musicians. If you already have a mental health provider, we can pay your provider directly.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES
We’ve compiled a list of mental health resources, programs, and services from city, county, state, and other nonprofit organizations to help those in the Seattle area struggling with their mental health. These resources include help with getting access to low-cost and free therapy, substance use disorder treatment and more.
The 988 three-digit phone number, or a text to 741741, connects you quickly to what was formerly know as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This service provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for You or Your loved ones, and best practices for professionals. You can still call the old number: (800)273-8255 to be connected to this service.
For immediate help in times of emotional crisis for You, Your family, or friends in need, call the 24-Hour Crisis Line: 866-4CRISIS or (866) 427-4747.
WA Warm Line is a peer support help line for people living with emotional and mental health challenges. Calls are answered by specially-trained volunteers who have lived experience with mental health challenges. They have a deep understanding of what you are going through and are here to provide emotional support, comfort, and information. All calls are confidential. Monday-Friday from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 12:30-9:00 PM
Washington Listens is a free, anonymous service for anyone in the state. Washington Listens provides support to people who feel sad, anxious, or stressed due to the events of this year including COVID-19 and the wildfires. It is a partnership of several agencies from across the state to provide emotional and mental support to individuals and families during these trying times, They can provide information to local resources and additional support, based on needs You may have. Support is available Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-9:00PM and Saturday-Sunday from 9:00AM-6:00PM.
Brown Girl Therapy is an online community founded by therapist-in-training Sahaj Kaur Kohli, focused on promoting therapy and unpacking bicultural identity.

The CCSWW Family Behavioral Health System, strives to provide care that is strengths-based, family driven, and culturally relevant. In addition, 24/7 crisis response is available for all of our enrolled clients.

MusiCares operates a Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Program that recognizes those issues unique to music professionals at any stage of their career. They offer eligible individuals financial assistance and resources for psychotherapy, coaching and psychiatric expenses, inpatient and outpatient treatment, detox and sober living costs.
The Washington Recovery Help Line is a program of Crisis Connections. They offer an anonymous, confidential 24-hour help line for Washington State residents. This help line is for those experiencing substance use disorder, problem gambling, and/or a mental health challenge. Their professionally-trained volunteers and staff provide emotional support. They can also connect callers with local treatment resources or more community services.
OUTPATIENT TREATMENT CATHOLIC COMMUNITY SERVICES
Catholic Community Services provides a full continuum of outpatient Substance Use Disorder treatment services in Snohomish, Whatcom, and Skagit counties, as well as two specialized recovery and treatment centers in King County.
Ideal Option is a national leader in office-based medication-assisted treatment for addiction to opioids, alcohol, and other substances. Patients are scheduled for their first appointment within 24 hours or on the same day if possible. Walk-ins are welcome and urgent referrals from community partners such as jails and emergency departments are prioritized. All forms of insurance including Medicaid and Medicare are accepted and financial assistance and payment plans are available.

Needle exchange is a public health program for people who use drugs by injection (PWID). Needle exchange programs provide new, sterile syringes and clean injection equipment in exchange for used, contaminated syringes. They also get drug users into drug treatment and health care. Other services include testing for HIV, hepatitis, TB and other infections to which drug users are prone; treatment readiness counseling and case management services; education about harms associated with drug use and how to minimize them; and safe disposal of contaminated equipment.

Seattle STEP Clinic is a collaboration between the Hepatitis Education Project (Harm Reduction) and Country Doctor Community Health Centers (Medical) to provide rapid access to medications for opioid use disorder. Seattle STEP Clinic hours are Tuesday – Thursday from 1 PM to 5 PM.
The Hepatitis Education Project is committed to improving health of underserved communities disproportionately impacted by viral hepatitis.
