the Art of a Healthy Community Thursday, November 10 from 5-8 p.m. at Vermillion Gallery

Please join Bloodworks Northwest and SMASH for the Art of a Healthy Community, an evening of song and refreshment at Vermillion Art Gallery and Bar on Thursday, November 10 from 5-8 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Art Walk. Guests will enjoy unique and fun mocktails by Sharelle Klaus, CEO, DRY Botanical Bubbly and author of The Guide to Zero-Proof Cocktails. Lauded local songwriter and vocalist Zan Fiskum will be performing. Her music blends the lines between indie/pop and Americana/folk as she writes about childhood trauma, the intricacies of family dynamics, connection to the natural world as well as a fan-favorite: love. Her second record, “Forbidden Art,” incorporating the sounds of soul, dream pop, world percussion and indie rock, will be released in 2023.

This event will be an opportunity to share information and inspiration regarding our community’s blood supply encouraging community members to donate blood as part of Bloodworks’ Music’s In Our Blood campaign, with a goal of 20,000 new or re-engaged donors by the end of the year. Music moves us. Blood bonds us. Amplify life by registering to donate today: www.bloodworksnw.org/music/

Your gift can shape the future of our city's music scene.

Behind the scenes of your favorite albums, far too many musicians are struggling to afford the healthcare they need to stay healthy and make music. When basic needs like routine physicals, mental health support, dental care, and glasses are often inaccessible, it is extremely difficult to sustain a music career. And without help, the music that has defined our city for decades could fade.
