Midnight High is an indie pop band based out of Seattle, WA. Their latest single, “Perfect Sun” is a moody, energetic, synthpop throwback, pulled into the present with modern production and an indie rock twist. It features Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver on guitar, showcasing her unique musical personality and lending a touch of her distinct sonic pallet to this rhythmically driven, nostalgic pop song.
Following the releases of “Avenue“ and “Domino,” this third single showcases a bit more of their upcoming full-length album's rhythmic and guitar-driven aesthetic while still maintaining the nostalgic and atmospheric synth production style heard in the previous releases. Nik Singleton’s vocal performance shines through, front and center, with lush harmonies and melodic exploration.
The remaining instrumentation of “Perfect Sun” was written, performed, and produced by Luke Dumke in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. This song, along with the rest of the upcoming full-length album, was mixed by Andy D. Park and mastered by Ed Brooks. Midnight High’s debut full-length album, “Swimming Lessons,” is set for an August 2023 release.
