Updated: May 9, 2023

ree

May is the beginning of Seattle's amazing weather, and we've got many opportunities for you to enjoy it this month! We've partnered with On The Block Second Saturdays for another summer of fantastic outdoor fairs featuring live music, local vendors, and community. Join us for the first installment on May 13th from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm on 11th Ave between E. Pike & E. Pine on Capitol Hill. May 26 - 29, catch us at the 52nd Annual Northwest Folklife Festival returning to Seattle Center.

With your support, SMASH raised $8,882 during GiveBIG for our Musicians' Mental Health Fund. If you didn't get a chance to donate, it's not too late! Make your tax-deductible donation today.

SMASH is excited to introduce you to our newest team member, Ciera Carpenter-Boyle. In her role at SMASH, she provides high-level administrative support to our Executive Director, Denise Burnside, and the SMASH team with the day-to-day business of providing healthcare to musicians.

Your gift can shape the future of our city's music scene.

Behind the scenes of your favorite albums, far too many musicians are struggling to afford the healthcare they need to stay healthy and make music. When basic needs like routine physicals, mental health support, dental care, and glasses are often inaccessible, it is extremely difficult to sustain a music career. And without help, the music that has defined our city for decades could fade.
